This retractable dog leash for large dogs seems pretty heavy duty. It the heaviest built retractable dog leash I have ever held. The weight is what makes me believe that it is heavy duty. A nice long nylon type strap and an easy locking stop with the simple push of a slide button on top where your thumb can easily reach it. The strap seems thicker than others as well. If your dog starts to run after another animal or someone just depress the locking mechanism to stop them in their tracks immediately. It even looks good with an attractive design and shape on either side of the reel. I feel this should last a long time without any problems by the way it is made. The handle is comfortable to grip also. It's affordable low price makes this a fantastic value for most. I can recommend this retractable dog leash very highly and I am sure you would be pleased with it.
