This unit can be used so many ways. I have it set up on my desk for more light when making videos. It provides a good amount of "natural" lighting without making me look like I am under a bright light. The dimming settings are convenient and the brackets are easy to setup and change out as needed.
I haven't tried it as a makeup mirror, but the reversible mirror that is included is well made and would work well.
