This pet life jacket is put together very well. It is made of the same material that human life jackets are made of. It is nicely padded, but not overly bulky. It fit well and is adjustable. I have not tried it out for buoyancy yet, but I do know that the color is very bright and is eye catching. If the dog were to ever get too far away, he can be easily seen. This is a nice safety item.
