If your dog is scared of jail clippers this is a great alternative. You don't have to worry about getting it in exactly the right place like you do with clippers and cutting the quick. You just hold it on the end of the nail. The vibrations aren't too had, so doesn't put the dog off too much.
I haven't used the clippers that come with it as that was what I wanted to avoid.
