This flashlight is a must have for your emergency kit. It takes 3 AAA batteries, but this the LED light, those will last a long time. I keep mine in my car. It's a great light to have in any kind of bad weather, and is very bright. I probably won't take mine diving, but I can feel confident that if I'm caught in the rain or snow, I will have a reliable light to light my way, or wave someone down.
