I purchased this Multimeter by #Keenstone for my son for Christmas. There always seems to be something that needs fixing w/in my home that's electrical in nature. Just the other night my Microwave Oven that sits over my oven went out after a power surge turned off my circuit breaker. I needed a multimeter or voltage meter to let me know if there was any voltage to the electrical outlet and whether my power source went bad. I had to borrow my neighbors. It showed that my microwave went to microwave heaven but at least we were able to determine the source. Before that it was my washer that went out. after checking my voltage it was determined that it was not my outlet that shorted out the motherboard but a bad motherboard. These things truly come in handy on all sorts of things. That said I decided instead of repeatedly having to borrow my neighbors I'd just get this one for my son. IT is pocket size making it easy to store when not in use and transport if needed. I also like that it has all the tools needed and has a flashlight. I like that it can test diodes, transistors and even temperature. You get all of this for about $20. Great gadget for every man's tool bag.
