This stand perfectly holds a cell phone, I haven't tried it with a tablet yet, but it feels sturdy enough for that, too. My wife does Whatsapp video with her sister in Peru while they watch tv using Plex. Plex lets you share tv shows so you watch at the same time. Anyway, I always see her trying to prop up the phone so her sis can see her while she's watching the tv. This is perfect for that.
