I'm very happy with this Wishpool Kitchen Tongs Set that I got a deal on through Rank Booster. I've used metal tongs like this without the silicone before, but there were several things I didn't like, and the makers of these seem to have addressed all of those issues:
1. Silicone covered tips! Just perfect. They solve the problems of cookware getting scratched by metal ends. They also make food easier to grab.
2. The silicone grippers on the sides solve the problem of the tongs being hard to hang on to, especially if you have some grease on your hands.
3. The locking mechanism works great. Better than the old days where these types of metal tongs had a ring of metal that slid up and down, to lock them. And even when they started using this type of locking mechanism, it didn't work half the time and you'd end up fighting with it. But these I tried several times and it locks and unlocks smoothly each time.
Plus, they feel sturdy in my hand and look well made. I'm looking forward to using these while grilling out this summer!
