GLASS RAIN TRACKER

~ What ~
Made of rust-proof black metal and glass, this rain gauge measures up to 7 inches of precipitation at a time. With its 2-prong stand, it can be adjusted to either 9.8 or 29.4 inches in height by screwing its poles together. The glass tube that is 2.15 inches in diameter has a blue line by its measurements. It arrives in a gift box with a screw set if you want to hang it on a wall without any stand and a cleaning brush, ready for using or giving.

~ Why ~
Since we live in the Pacific Northwest, we tend to keep an eye on the rainfall. We had a similar rain gauge, but the glass cracked during an ice storm, so I like that this one is freeze-protected. Having the painted blue line that tints the water makes it easier to read accurately. With the 2 height options and the 2 prongs or no stand at all, it is nice there are several options.

~ Why Not ~
If you do not like keeping track of the amount of rain, this is not for you, but it would make a nice gift for someone who lives in a rainy climate. Some may wish the glass were bigger or the stand were taller. The blue line starts around the 1-inch mark so any moisture collected under that amount may be harder to read.

~ Wish ~
It would be thoughtful if the blue line went all the way to the bottom of the glass holder as per the online photos.
