Don't bother

My son used to be an avid skateboarder and spent nearly every waking hour out rolling around and doing tricks. Then he broke his wrist and after that started playing baseball, so didn't want to hurt himself again and then not be able to play ball because of a skating injury. But he does still get out and rolls around here and there, so still has problems with dirty grip tape. He lost his griptape cleaner, so I thought we would try this out and see if it works for him.

But after taking it out of the package, I have mixed feelings about it. I honestly don't know what to say but this has been a disappointment and is now in the trash. Harsh, but true. I had my son do the video review to demonstrate it and share his views, reminding him to be nice but to also be honest. You can view that video with this review and see for yourself what you think.

My son gave some really good information in the video and actually provided some great feedback for the company, if they listen. He pointed out that if Sayshun wants to provide high quality products like they claim to want to focus on in their Amazon listing, they should look at their competitors and the products offered by them to see what they do and how they do it, then do it the same or better. Not bad advice coming from an 8th grader. Great business insight there that I was thrilled to hear him share.

Something else he said more in general, for the consumer, but something the company needs to understand. If a company wants to offer products to a targeted audience, be sure you understand the lingo of said audience. For example, saying this cleans sandpaper on the skateboard instead of griptape. This lack of understanding of the terminology used by skaters will only drive them away to a company that DOES speak their language.

The product itself did not work, not even slightly. It balled up and made a mess, removing none of the dirty look on the griptape. He said he honestly felt it was making it worse rather than cleaning it. After 20 minutes scrubbing, it didn't look any different than when he began. It was a major disappointment to us. Guess I am going to be buying some of the higher end stuff once again so that he can clean it up since this is now in the trash.

Do not buy this. Wait until the company invests in making a product that works the way it claims. And do not believe their picture on Amazon of before and after.
