I haven't been able to use it yet.

I received this item and opened it right away. It hadn't been outside for even two minutes. When I opened it I attempted to turn it on, nothing happened. I opened the battery compartment and found a small round corroded battery. There was so much corrosion around the edges of the battery that it was obvious that it had been stored for a long time and possibly in varying temperatures. I don't know if that will have an effect on the thermometer itself. Once I find an appropriate battery to fit this item I can update this blog review and let you know how that turns out for me. I hate to give this product just one star based on the corrosion of the battery alone but it was supposed to work on arrival and it doesn't work so I feel the single star is called for in this situation.

Not only that, but through my experience as a bargain shopper, I know that the Dollar Tree sells similar meat thermometers to this one. I feel that I could replace this meat thermometer with battery included for a single dollar plus tax and it will work out better budget-wise than the price it will be to replace the battery inside of this one. With this knowledge, it reaffirms my decision to give this item a single star based on the battery corrosion alone.
