the drive does not work right out of the box, you need to have the proper software to read and write from the drive. This software is not provided and you have to either buy a license key for specific software or already have software installed on your computer. It is for this reason I am only giving this 3 stars, for the software and also because it takes forever to write a CD never-ending trying to write to a DVD disk.
5 out of 10 I would hesitate to recommend this to others.
