This is a pretty strong arc. It will definitly deter animals or people from the site and sound alone. I havent tried it out on anything yet but it is more powerful that others i have tried which were unpleasant. The flashlight it not really relevant but works fine. Comes with belt case. Overall a great self defense unit.
