I didn't realize when I bought these water guns that they only shoot by sliding the white loader forward and backwards. The trigger is just there for show and doesn't move.
It's one solid piece of plastic except for the part you use to shoot the water and the cap on the water tank. It has a very nice, smooth feel. Almost feels like there's some silicone in the plastic. it's not a hard, brittle plastic like cheap toys are.
It does shoot water very far. If you arch your shot into the air, it goes even farther. I could shoot at least 20-30' feet away. And it's a nice, strong bead of water that goes out. It's not a thin trickle. However, I found that repeatedly shooting gets tiring. I'm not sure if this would be something really young children would have fun using, although a weaker tug on the shooter bar just gives you a little less water to shoot and it goes less of a distance, so probably smaller children wouldn't mind whereas older children would probably have the stamina to play with these a long time.
Tank holds a decent amount of water for many shoots before it empties. Would be fun to play with while in a pool!
