It is the cleanest sounding sound input device I have used, People tell me I sound great on the other end and I don't think I have a great voice. LOL. It has a volume knob for the pickup which is great which is able to turn all the way down which would simulate an off position. It is a mic where you have to be at a reasonable position from it I would say 6inch - 14inch has been my sweet relax spot.
