It DOES catch cat hair, lint, etc as promised, but it catches everything else too. You have to hold it at just the right angle and even then it will catch on the material you are trying to clean and it actually pulled up some threads on my comforter. Not going to keep using this as it seems to damage fabrics, going to try and electric lint remover instead.
