Wire side works great on curly poodle type fur

I purchased this mainly for the wire, more firm brush side, but I went with this one to see how well the more typical brush side worked on my little pup. I always worry that I’m irritating his skin when I use a stiff brush. But, the fine one just did not work well on him. He is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Poodle, a breed they refer to as the Shih Poo. His fur turned out more like the poodle, with a bit of curl to it. I think he looks cuter when it’s about an inch long, but when it’s that long, I need to give him a fluff with the blow dryer after he’s close to being dry after a bath. The fine brush just didn’t want to go through his hair, but the firm side worked excellent.
