I bought this to use during my daughters' birthday party and it worked out wonderfully! It was bright and colorful without taking up a lot of room or requiring a lot of setup. Since it is small, it is also easy to store while not in use. It can be mounted if you like, but doesn't necessarily have to be, and it can be controlled with the remote if you do mount it higher than you can reach. There are multiple modes and colors, so there are a lot of different options for designs. It can be used for any type of celebration, or to add in with other lights to create a show. My kids loved dancing to the flashing colors and had a wonderful time with it.
