My partner and I were having a problem deciding what to buy his uncle for Christmas as he always gives us a good one, then I had an inspired idea. His uncle suffers from arthritis in his back and I remembered that my grandmother used a heat pad to give her pain relief so we both agreed to buy him a suitable one.
This head pad from Bromose seemed to be the best one we came across. It's made from a soft plush material, measures 89 x 44 cm and can be worn as it has a collar that fastens around the neck by poppers and a tie strap around the waist. The control unit has 6 x heat settings with a range between 40 - 60 degrees Centigrade and a 4 x timer settings between 30 - 120 minutes. The power cord and control unit can be unplugged from the heat pad if the pad needs to be machine washed but the pad must be completely dry before plugging the power cable back in.
When we tested this heat pad it took about ten minutes to warm up properly but when it did the pad was uniformly warm and I'm sure that it will help my partner's uncle with some pain relief.
