This item does in fact do the job that it is designed to do; however, the gooseneck is extremely stiff and difficult to maneuver. When I initially tried to utilize it upon receipt, I could hardly move the neck and when I finally was able to do so I heard a cracking sound from the stem. Like I said, it will hold your phone upright but good luck trying to get it in just the right position you would like because it is extremely difficult to do so.
