I purchased this for use while out walking with the family and for when I go to Florida for vacation at the beginning of next month. I have two young children and I always seem to be trying to carry both my stuff and their stuff, or helping them with something that requires use of my hands. With this fanny pack, I can hold my phone, money, credit cards and ID, and miscellaneous other items, while remaining hands free for when I need to help them or carry something of theirs.
There are three openings, each one with a rainbow-zippered closure. The one that is closest to the body is pretty small, but would be great for a smaller mobile device, or credit cards and money. I intend to keep my money and credit cards in there because my phone (Galaxy Note 8) really is just too large to fit in that pocket. It will, however, fit in the very front pocket perfectly (though I am not sure if it will still fit once I get a case on it, so I may have to move it to the larger pocket at that point). The front pocket would likely fit most phones in it though as my phone is rather large. The main pouch is pretty good sized and has a divided pocket in it. This pouch can easily fit sunscreen or lotion, snacks, and other odds and ends in it without being uncomfortably full.
Style-wise, it is interesting to look at. Since I wear a lot of black clothing, I went with the black one so that I would match most of my wardrobe, but the colored zippers and holographic look give it a bit more style than a normal black fanny pack would have. The outside material appears to be a kind of vinyl and can reflect different colors depending upon the lighting. It feels like it would be water resistant, but not waterproof. The material itself would lessen the likelihood of water getting through, but the zippers would likely allow water in with minimal resistance. I might take this to someplace where it would be damp, but I would definitely not be trying to swim in it. The strap is a basic 1-inch thick strap. It is, however, very long. I am a plus sized woman and I have had no issues with it being too small. In fact, I still have a little leeway left! So far, the only negatives that I have noticed with this is that the zippers feel a little stiff, but I imagine that they will start to get less stiff after some use and be easier to open and close.
