Great Value Pet Clippers

These Pecute nail clippers are a nice new addition to my pet supplies basket. While I already had a pair of nail clippers for my four cats, they often vanish and having a spare pair is definitely necessary. I purchased these Pecute nail clippers from Amazon and at $6.99, their price is comparable to other pet nail clippers I have gotten in the past. The package arrived in good condition, with only slight bending to one corner of the cardboard to indicate any potential issues. The product arrived undamaged and in good working order.

Like several of the other Pecute products I have purchased, this product has a green and black color scheme. I appreciate that all of their products follow the same general color scheme as they look nice as a set. The stainless-steel nail clippers are slightly angled to allow for ease of use and better visibility. In addition, the grip is comfortably padded with rubber so that it does not hurt the users hand if you need to use the product repeatedly over a short period of time. The product arrived sharp enough for immediate use on our cats, so that is what I did. I tested this product on each of our cats, and it cut through their claws with relative ease. They did not show any signs of discomfort that exceeded their general dislike of having their claws trimmed either. The Amazon listing also provides a guide for how far back it is safe to trim your cat’s claws, which is a nice touch if you are new to trimming their claws on your own.

All of that said, I would be careful not to allow the blades on these clippers to get dull and I would not recommend them for anything other than a cat or small dog breed. The clippers are too small for larger dog breeds and they would likely not clip through the nail comfortably, which would cause discomfort. In addition, they are rather short and could be difficult to use if your pet is particularly reluctant to have their nails tended to.

Overall, I would give this product a 4 out of 5 stars. I would recommend they provide sharpening instructions or trimming instructions directly in the package instead of on Amazon. I would also recommend that the manufacturer consider including something in the package to sharpen the nail clippers.
