I bought "USB C to HDMI VGA Adapter, Topoint USB Type C to HDMI 4K VGA Adaptor Converter for MacBook/MacBook Pro, Samsung " on Dec. 2017. This is a great item. My laptop is Acer Predator 15, and my monitor is Samsung 1080p HD. I used it to convert the HDMI to Type C. My monitor is HDMI port, and my laptop is Type C. It worked perfectly. Because I do not have the 4k monitor and the 4k laptop, I can not talk whether or not it also supports 4k well.
