Sturdy steel. Nice and heavy. Perfect fit for female hands. Nice for pruning house plants.These pruners surprised me! I've bought many pruners before and they either break on me or my wrists are too weak to get them to cut but these cut anything and everything I've tried with ease. They don't cause they wrist or hand pain like others I've used either because they work with little effort. I will definitely buy these again, I have the pair they are a gray tone. I will have to update as I do more yard work:)
