My husband has been wanting a small desk lamp to keep in his corner of the room because it gets very dark. We each have a corner of our living room where our computer desks are set up, and both of us feel our corners are too dark to be comfortable when working. I keep a lamp on my desk and have it on anytime I am sitting down, regardless of the work. He wanted one for his desk, too, but not something as large as the one I am using.   This lamp is more minimalistic in design. The base is about 3 inches wide and circular in design to help provide stability for the lamp. The lamp itself is less than 12 inches tall, so not something that is huge and distracting. The foldable arm on it that contains the lights is about 7 inches and swings out. You can angle it out to the direction you want the light to illuminate and it covers a decent little amount of space on your desk. It is perfect in our dark corners on our computer desks, allowing my husband to light up his corner easily so that he can see what he is doing on his desk. And if you are not using it, you can fold the arm back down so that it takes up only the 3 inches of space, making it convenient on cluttered or smaller desks. Plus, even folded the light still works and gives you some glow in the area.   It plugs in via usb cable to charge, and once charged can be unplugged and carried around. Works great as am emergency light if you need it during a power outage or if you need to get up in the middle of the night to go check on a child or do something but don't want to turn on the lights to do it. Of course, being a touch lamp, it is very sensitive and you go through all of the settings simply by touching it, so be sure to touch it only once and don't touch it again or remove your hand from it while carrying it or you will change it to a different light mode. There are three levels of brightness, the highest being a pretty decent level and giving you plenty of light for crafting or whatever you are working on.   So far this is working out great for my husband's desk. I have a similar lamp on my own desk that is a bit larger that I use for crafting and wouldn't be able to do things as easily without it. He does not craft and doesn't have much space on his desk, so this works perfectly for what he needs.
