Would be great if i could get it to work

I purchased this infrared war thermometer because I needed it for my son who hates getting his temp under the arm or mouth. When I first got this it was great. Worked fine for the first day. Took my sons temp fast I loved how it easy it was. However the point and check temp on bottles etc wouldn't work for me. I don't know if I got a bad one or what but mine quit working on day 2 of having it. I changed the battery and still can't get it to work. Maybe I got a return not sure but can't get it to work.
