This adapter worked immediately when I plugged it in. I tried to follow the steps to install the driver and looked for the folder, but it wasn't necessary as it just worked. I have purchased OTHER adapters that did not work, even after installing the driver or that worked until unplugged and then needed to be re-installed. I was very pleased with this one that it has worked perfectly from the start.
