We got these scratch guards to try to keep our cat from scratching the furniture. He has the tall scratching posts and other items he can use to claw and scratch, but he always seems to want to use my couch and loveseat instead. I thought we'd try these out. They are transparent, making it very difficult to get pictures that show what it is. They peel off the backing and stick on your couch. There is no smell, nothing that would deter them from scratching, so I honestly have no clue how they work. And when he did scratch, he peeled it off in places, making my couch look worse than before. I took them off and threw them away. This did not work for us and is not something I would recommend trying if you are looking to prevent scratching.
