I also got this for my step daughter's cat. And the furball loves it. In between drinking from it there's a lot of splashing. Little did I know that the cat would decide to play with the water. But that might be an additional benefit. I highly recommend this watering station for small animals just be aware if they play in the water and might make a mess. Otherwise we're very happy with it
