Broken out of the package

This item was broken right out of the package...I purchased new batteries for this item because I figured he would play with it a long time before he throws it in the trash or anywhere for that matter. I took it out of the package and placed the batteries in...there is no way to tell if the batteries are in correctly, so you have to keep trying every possible way until you get it...I finally got it and it worked for 2 mins. and the went out...I changed the batteries, purchaed new ones, tried them in other items and they worked. Next, the metal connectors fell out, I put it back in with new batteries from another store and it worked sometimes, but would not follow the black permanent marker lines.  Not enough power? Item Trash? Yes.  This did not work after folling directions, lead me to believe the item is TRASH! Returned to seller for full refund!  Took 2 week for refund!
