This is a good 20 gauge cable with a nice thick rubber jacket and sealed rubber plugs covering gold plated 1/4" connectors. If I were gigging it would still come in handy for backstage use or something. It's too short for anything else, but that's what makes it great for for practicing and such. For my use it's the perfect length, not too short but not so long it gets tangled up and stuff. I don't run around the room, so it's just right for playing the guitar by the desk
