Smooth application, lots of colors

SouthSun oil colored pencils are great for adult coloring books, drawing, sketching, and more. This 160 color set comes in a carrying case with 5 trays to keep the pencils organized. I absolutely love that it also comes with a swatch paper so that I didn't have to create my own. It also has a great selection of skin-tones and grays, which are usually passed over in most sets. I would like to have seen more selection of reds though; The ones in this set lean more towards pinks and oranges with only a few true reds. As for using these, they apply smoothly with no skipping. As you can see on the swatch picture, they nicely shade from light to dark and cover the paper well. I was able to press hard and not have the lead break. Sharpening also was easy. I have had pencils before that were off center or would break frequently, but these sharpen to a fine point. This allows for detailed coloring and application to small areas. Colors can also be easily layered for additional effects. I highly recommend these pencils, especially at the listed price point compared to other pencils I have tried (I have an absurdly large collection).
