Another must for Scouters!

I am restocking our various camping supplies for the kids. With them being in Scouts, we have gone through a lot of different products over the past few years, and many have lost parts, gotten lost, or are in need of replacement. It was time for new utensils, so these were the sets I picked up for both of the boys.   This utensil is a three in one tool. You get the knife, spoon, and fork in one.  They fold down on themselves making for a small unit that can easily be thrown in your pack when camping. They are heavier than some of the others we have used in the past, and heavier than the sporks the boys have been throwing in to their bags now, but are not overly heavy and burdensome. They won't add a huge amount of weight to the overall pack, so are the perfect set for the boys.   And the spoon is a full size spoon, not one of those mini-spoons that you can barely get anything in to. It has a nice full cup to hold your oatmeal, cereal, beans, or whatever you are scooping out. The fork is strong and has good tines on it, making it a solid fork, too. But what impressed me was the knife. It is sharp, not just a plain old butter knife. It is something that can easily cut through meat and tougher foods. But be cautious when using it because it IS sharp and CAN cut fingers, too.   In addition to the three main utensils, there is also a bottle opener. This can come in handy when you are out and about and don't have one, but have a bottle that needs some help prying it open. There is also a little loop at the end of the utensil that allows you to hang it, which is helpful when your pack is overly stuffed and you need to hang it, or for when you are done eating and have washed your utensils and need to dry them. It is not big enough to slide a carabiner in to, but you can easily thread a loop of paracord or leather on it that you can then snap a carabiner on to.   This is a great utensil set that is perfect for camping, backpacking, and Scouting. My boys are both appreciative of this new set to replace their old mismatched utensils that are all loose. They have continuously lost their utensils and have had to replace them with random pieces from our collection, so having them all in one unit makes it much more convenient and easy to locate in their packs.
