I bought this carafe to use for iced tea and juice. It appears from other reviews that boiling water can be put directly oony the carafe, but the glass does feel a bit thin for that. I'll have to work up my nerve to check! It's great for cold items, though, and it's small enough to fit nicely in a refrigerator.
