Damascus Chef Knife

This beautiful knife arrived a day early. I love knives, but ones that do not balance well and are not easy to hold are of no value to me. This knife, on original inspection has a quality fit and finish.

The balance is right on, making it a "fast" and agile knife, like a fighting knife should be, but of course this is not a fighting knife. But don't use it in a fight or your opponent might want to take it home for his/her kitchen. (haha)

The weight in the hand lets you know it means business. I compared it to the POS knife my mother in law bought in the 1990s and it's head and shoulders above her knife.

The blade steel: It is marked German Stainless steel. By its self, that description is hype. The quality of a blade depends on what goes into the steel and how it's heat treated. What is the Rockwell hardness? How is it tempered? Who knows? Only time will tell if the blade steel lives up to the advertised claims. That review is for another day. I'll use it in my kitchen and possibly make an update to this review.
