A friend of mine who suffers from anxiety was recently advised to get an aquarium as it might calm her. She got the aquarium but didn't realise all the equipment you need to keep your fish healthy so when I saw this combined filter and air pump / waterfall I thought this would be useful to her. The filter comes in a box with all the pipes, fittings and filter sponges needed to fit the unit by hanging it outside the aquarium and has a 1.4 meter power cord fitted with a UK mains plug.
I don't know anything about aquariums or the equipment you need to keep fish but my friend said this was easy to set up and works very well as it sucks up the water from the aquarium which then gets mixed with air, gets filtered through the carbon treated filter sponges then falls back into the tank like a small waterfall at rate of 260 litres every hour which clears the small layer of carbon dioxide that can build up just above the surface of the water. She also said that it's very convenient because it saved her getting a separate air pump and water filter.
I have to say though that as this filter/pump hangs off the top of the aquarium unless your aquarium doesn't have a lid or have a sectional lid where a part can be removed then this might not be suitable for your aquarium.
