According to the instructions this only works with the batteries included. It comes with an USB cord but no plug and definately do not plug it into a device to charge like a laptop. I have them charging right now so Im not sure just how well they work. The charger port is compact and does not take up a lot of room. The cord is very short though, its too short to plug into a plug and set it on my side table. I would probably buy a more familiar brand next time.
