The material is super soft and high in quality. It does have the elasticity as stated in product description. The elastic rim around the cover holds well the entire cover around the sofa. I have a contemporary leather sofa and the cover fits perfectly. Only remark is that sponge rods provided doesnt fix in the inseems of the sofa so they cover keeps pulled off at the junctions. totally, its a nice quality sofa cover with some imperfections in the deign but worth the cost.
