This thermometer is pretty accurate. It didn't work when I received it but I replaced the battery (which is NOT easy) and it's been working great since then. I would say it's accurate within about .5F. The display is easy to read with the red, yellow and green backlight. We've had the flu in our house and this thermometer has been super helpful with the kids (it's fast and you don't even have to touch them/wake them to get a reading).
