When I received the item it was on opened and the band taken off, I put it back on and so far it’s been working alright, it’s pretty accurate but since I have panic disorder it often alarms me so I gave it to my husband who loves it. I recommend this item it does exactly as described a great purchase if you want to check them out and get your own (I would) you can get it here.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DG1VZDJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_JMkvBbHC3Z62Z
