This set is great for personal use for beginners. I imagine experiences DIYers will be using heavier duty carving tools, but these work well for their intended use, my 9 year old son and husband. Included are: 12 pieces Wood Carving Tools Knife Kit, 3 Pieces Whetstones and 1 Piece Brush. The handles are lightweight and my son is able to comfortably grip for his projects. We haven't had to sharpen yet, so can not commend on the quality of the whetstones. The brush works ok, but we have added a denser brush to his kit. My son (and husband) are highly satisfied with this starter kit and he is looking forward to delving into carving more than his wood in the future.
