One of the sides is smaller than the other so that you can see the side of the metal plate that separates the two halves.  I was hoping for more of a glow in the dark feature but it barely glows and only lasts a short time.  The picture inside the glass looks better on the site than it does on the necklace.  I am not impressed by it
