Strange looking, but comfy

I placed the order for this face mask back around the time our state (California) first locked down after Covid hit, which was mid-March. It took FOREVER for it to finally arrive, coming in the end of June, though it was supposed to arrive the beginning of June. When I first ordered it, I thought there would be no need for it and the craze would be past since they were doing 3 week lockdowns. We had no clue that we'd be in to July and still stuck at home and now being forced to wear masks in public. So though it took forever to arrive, it CAN be used. IF I want to use it. I honestly don't know what the design is supposed to be though. My husband and boys asked me what it even is. I told them I have no clue. None of us can figure out what the design is supposed to be. Is it a beaver face? Something else? No one wants to wear it because they don't want to have to try to explain WHAT it even is. But beyond that, it is a single layer mask with no room for filtration, so would need to be layered over a N95 mask to be truly effective or to give adequate protection. It has soft elastic ends that slide over your ears, but they cannot be adjusted so if they stretch out at all, this mask will be rendered useless unless you use a mask holder behind the head to slide the elastic ends over. It is almost too loose to wear as is, so I can imagine that a few times using it and it would be too loose to effectively stay in place. So we have a mask that will be a back up to be used just in case. I have it in the center console in my car in case someone out and about needs a mask and doesn't have one. But for my family, we will use the double layered, filter holding, adjustable elastic cloth masks that I have made in bulk and wash up after each use.
