The directions leave much to be desired but once you get it going, it works great. My son found that he had to unplug it and replug it back in for us to change it from celcius to degrees. It connected easily to the outside sensor. You don't have to do anything for it to connect with that. It took it about 3 seconds to find it and send the temp. The days of the week can be changed to all these different languages ENG, GER, FRE, ITA, DUT, SPA, DAN which is another nice feature. It has bright color readout which makes it easy to be seen no matter where in the room you are and is bright enough to be seen at night
