Well calibrated but not "instant"

This thermometer is well calibrated and the construction seems pretty durable. I've been using it for a few weeks now without issue.
The only gripe I have is that it's not "instant". It's very quick, but it takes 5-10 seconds to reach a final reading most of the time.
I had an expensive instant thermometer that this replaced that was instant and would read in 1-2 seconds, but it cost me $150.
For the price I can wait a few more seconds for the final temp to display and if it breaks I'll just buy a new one.
