This pad would be more for indoor use, possibly for addditional padding but not for serious camping. It is very thin, you can feel the floor through it, which tells me it would not offer much padding while camping on a hard ground surface. I do like the fact thqt it has elastic straps to hold it on to a cot if needed. .
