One of the main reasons I got this is because of the remote control.  I like to use oils in my bedroom, but I do not like to sleep with it on.  You can change the Light color and time mode by remote control.  It is a great night light, its not too bright and not too dull.  This is the largest diffuser that I have, being that it is 500ml water capacity.  It runs for about 6 hours in high mist mode.  It's great because I turn it on several hours before I got to sleep and it last for about three hours before I have to fill it up again.  Sometimes I do like to have it on while I am sleeping so the 60/120/180 minute modes are an added bonus!  You can also set it for a strong and weak mist which is great for different oils.  Some oils can be over bearing so this feature it great!  If you dont want to use the diffuser part you can use just the light.  It is pretty quiet.  My favorite feature is the waterless feature because you dont have to worry about it catching on fire from being empty
