We recently adopted a stray from the neighborhood and have a stray mama kitty who had kittens that we plan to keep one of them. I needed to stock up on cat toys and supplies once again to be sure we had everything we need for when the new kitty comes in and to satisfy the needs of the stray we brought in who is adjusting to being an indoor kitty after having the freedom to roam. These catnip toys were first on my list of things to buy since I got some similar to these for my mom's cat in the past and I loved them.
I was actually quite surprised by the size of these toys! They were far larger than I thought they would be. I expected them to be half the size they really are. Very impressive size!
And you can smell the catnip on them. It is not strong or overwhelming, but if you smell them, you can smell it. It is not a bad scent, and even my dogs spent a long time sniffing them trying to figure out what the smell was. With these two toys you can't add more catnip to them, so once the smell wears off, that is it. But so far he is having fun playing with them more than rubbing on them and sniffing them. No kitty highs going on with this guy.
They appear to be well made. I saw no flaws in design, no crooked or loose seams, and no stray threads. They are filled nicely with no flat spaces or places the stuffing is not filled in correctly. And they are soft. The material makes them look like they might be harder or have a different texture, but they are almost fleece-like in the feel. They will be easy to chew and won't hurt you kitty in any way, especially an aging cat with sensitive teeth or no teeth.
These are working out great for the stray and he is having a blast attacking them and chewing on them so far. Great toys!
