messy and sheds

I purchased this decorative nest for my daughter to use as part of her display during a science presentation on birds. It was shipped in a clear plastic bag inside a plastic bag mailer so it was pretty beat up and smushed when it arrived. We wanted it to look like a natural nest which we all know is not always a perfect circular shape so the fact that it had gotten bent and was uneven actually somewhat was a benefit for us. It is a bit messy and the material sheds everytime the nest is moved around. We ended up spraying it with some clear coat and glued some chocolate colored felt to the bottom to minimize the mess as she takes it around to display at our local public librarys, swamp park and our heritage center.
