This slicer has multiple settings, slices and strips at different thickness settings controlled by a knob. It seems that the difficulty arises when the operator presses down too hard instead of just enough as for it to slide smoothly across. The item does a good job, but it is a little overpriced when compared with other products that perform in a similar fashion but have more attachments. However, it is great that it folds and requires minimal storage space. Overall, it is a good product but the retail price is high.
